The encounter saw Joe’s "Grand Army of the South" (led by Amdur, Raza, and a Mumak with a Mahud Beastmaster) face off against Andy’s "Fields of Celebrant" (commanded by Eorl, a Gondor King, and a Minas Tirith Captain).
Early Engagement #
The southern force secured an aggressive start, with both the Mumak and Amdur inflicting significant casualties early on and reducing the Gondor/Rohan alliance by 10 models within the first two turns. During this exchange.
It came at a cost though, as Amdur was forced to expend an additional Might point, on top of an already called Heroic Combat, to win a fight and continue forward, a significant early investment for the South.
The Turning Point #
Andy gained momentum by winning a series of priority moves, and with strong use of Might for some Heroic Moves, allowing him to maneuver Eorl and his sons into a decisive flanking position.
The ensuing charge shattered the Haradrim & Easterling flank, isolating the Mumak.
While the initial attempt to engage the Mumak was insufficient to pin the beast—resulting in the creature inflicting 3 wounds on Eorl on its Trample and forcing him to use Might to boost a Fate roll—the situation shifted when the Gondor King joined the fray. Utilizing his lance and a Heroic Strength from Eorl, the pair dealt 6 wounds to the beast.

In the following turn, Andy declared the "Charge of Eorl" to gain wound re-rolls, allowing the two heroes to finish off the Mumak. The resulting fall damage from the destroyed creature proved catastrophic for the Haradrim forces, causing them to break., amd just be one off quartering as the alliance Gondor forces also made a large dent into the Easterling forces.
Conclusion #
The game continued for one final turn, during which both players successfully secured each other's objectives, but the banners in the Sons of Eorl, and the overpowering remaining Gondor forces made the most of a lot of failed Courage checks for the southern army.
The match concluded with an 11-5 victory for Andy. The game was highly enjoyable, characterized by a collaborative atmosphere where tactical decisions were discussed throughout the game
