Shadows in the New Forest — GBHL90 Event pack #

Welcome to Shadows in the New Forest. This is a GBHL 90 event with a few quirks designed to make for a day of fun games. Players will play two games at 500 points and two at 700 points, using the same army list.
There is a reward for those people who submit a unique list for this event with a view to having a broad range of lists represented on the day.
In an attempt to encourage a wider diversity of lists at the event, unique army lists will be rewarded with one free point of might that can be used by any non-hero model once per game to impact a dice roll (eg. an Orc Warrior could use the free might point to bump a wound roll from a 5 to a 6). The free might point cannot be used to call heroic actions, influence priority rolls or rolls that determine whether or not a game would end. Players are required to inform their opponent before each round if they have a free point of might to spend during the course of the game.
For the purpose of the event a unique list will be defined as an army list that no other player is using.

Army composition & list submission #

For this tournament you will need a 500pt and a 700pt version of the same army list. You may have a different army leader in both variations of the list, but the list must stay the same. Eg. a player could submit an ‘Army of the Great Eye’ list with the Witch King as their general in the 500pt list and the Shadow Lord as their general for the 700pt list. If the chosen list includes a mandatory leader, this must stay the same for both variants of the list.
Players may use any army list from the current GW books. Legacy lists and models are welcome at this event.

Scenarios #

Scenarios will be preselected by the TOs from the matched play guide, all four rounds will be from different pools.

Scoring & pairings #

Round one will be random pairings, adjacent pairings will be used for rounds 2-4.
  • 3 TP for a win
  • 1 TP for a draw
  • 0 TP for a loss
Tiebreakers: VP diff then VP scored

Round timings & dice down #

  • Round length: 500 points = 1hr 30mins. 700 points = 2 hours.
  • Regular time updates will be provided by the TO, when the round reaches time you must finish your round and no new rounds are to be started with 5 mins or less on the clock.

Models & painting #

  • 3D prints / proxies require TO approval, the general policy is that these will be fine as long as they don't grant any advantage such as line of sight benefits when compared to the official model.
